The Royals

I, like many Brits took a few days off between the Easter and May break to have an extended holiday. Like many Brits I did not do this to watch the Royal Wedding. I'm really pleased for the New couple but no more pleased as if it where the couple over the street.

After a 4 day break in the English Lake district I thought I had managed to avoid the hullabaloo that is a British Royal Wedding. However, I had to Pop into the Lakeland Town of Keswick for a few provisions. I took this shot of the 'celebrations' as I left the Town in an awful hurry.

I'm no Party pooper, if this couple where a close friend or relative I would be having a knees up with the rest of them, but lets face it, I have no idea what so ever who these people are.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it if thats your thing, and I hope you also enjoyed avoiding it if you wanted too, and managed to do so.

Below is a shot of the scene I left behind only hours before, you decide which place you would prefer to be?

I agree with your sentiments. We often get too caught up in pop culture. I'll take your option for spending my time.

wow, that is quite the crowd. I did watch a little of the wedding today but it was on far too early for me! (Here in Canada)

:o) Nice upload, Kevin!
I kind of know what you mean about the royal wedding.
I wasn't planning to watch it either, but I got drawn in and actually ended up really enjoying it!
Still, the lakeland footpath looks like a wonderful place for a stroll! (V)
