Frozen Marshes

A shot taken at the local nature reserve. I have been doing a lot of my HDR work using 1 shot and pushing the exposure in PS to get the bracketing. This ones a proper bracketed 3 shots with a Magenta filter applied in PS.

1/6s f/8.0 at 18.0mm iso500 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I kind of agree with Stewart - a tad too much pinky-magenta here for my delicate taste LOL!! I wonder what it would look like in B&W? And with the telegraph pole cloned out?? Your attention to composition, clarity and exposure is spot on Kevin, can't fault them at all!

Excellent Kev , I really like the grass in the foreground and the ice . Its amazing what a little PS can do.

Key here is the strong composition... possibly inspired by Ian Cameron's latest posting ... some good sound advice from Stewart!

Thanks Stewart, its not often I get the proper advice on PBase. This is really appreciated, especially from a distinguished photographer such as your self. This does of course mean I will now be on Photoshop the rest of the night figuring out how to do it :-)

Kevin, I really like the way the greens have popped out in the HDR version....not quite so sure about the magenta tint though. I would venture to suggest that you consider limiting the image to just 3 main colours which will contrast nicely...blue for the ice and sky, green for the foreground grasses and orange/yellow for the background grasses. i.e. push the orange and lose the magenta!! Just a thought....
