Beach

A one from Sundays trip to the coast. Its a long editing process done with very little idea of what I wanted at the end. HDR conversion, then into PS and converted to Black and white, added a Photo filter layer with multiply settings( No idea what that means), then boosted the brightness back up. In short I buggered about for 15 mins.

Anyway let me know if you like it or not, I'm just not sure.

Very strong image Kevin!

Your buggery worked well! Maybe you could add a bit more grit to the foreground - it looks a bit 'clean' compared to the sky? The log makes for a gran composition though :o)

A good job of buggering up, Kevin...if that branch washed up don't you wonder how far it's travelled !!

Excellent comp with strong foreground interest....and the HDR is not overpowering, which I am glad of. Texturally superb :)

Wonderful framing with strong lead lines to the industrial scape!

Just 15 minutes, that's not bad

Yes I like it, now write a precise formula for the creation.

Sounds exactly like my modus operandi.
I like the result - it's got lots of texture and is reminiscent of an old print. V

Grainy! Gritty! Superb deep dimension. Great use of the length of the foreground subject to draw the viewer in! BRAVO!

Reminds me of a Death Valley image I saw a while ago...but with lots more character. Superb work, Kevin.

Love the composition, the HDR will always bring out noise from higher ISOs but here it adds to the effect.

Sorry the exif is stripped off , ISO is 650 which will be part of the graininess along with the HDR

I don't know which bit of the buggering about added the graininess, but I like it.
