The Future of Paper

http://form.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=40835 For More Thursday Challenges>

The paper challenge got me thinking about the future of paper. Everybody says we now live in a paperless society. This WW2 newspaper catches the eye and makes you want to read more. The CD roms could probably hold this information a million times over, but nothing catches your eye. It got me wondering that if we ever have a world without paper, what would the next generation do when they stumbled across a pile of CD roms 60 years from now?

Makes me wonder if we'll see a photo of a Kindle here this week.

Interesting thinking. We must cut back on paper, somehow or we will cut off our oxygen and loose all our great trees.

Can't imagine the world without paper information and picyure.

I hope we don't go paperless totally. I think sometimes the computer gets in the way for just 'the way things were'.

I like how you compare the cd's verses newspaper. We have a newspaper that stopped production this week and it brought home the future of newspapers.

I think we will ultimately regret that decision :-0

Interesting point you pose...the next generation may well be all online and have no need of tangibles!! Oh and fine imagery here, great toning :)

I've never used as much A4 as a we do now in our "paperless" world, the more data we have, the more graphs we print out, and emails are printed out as reminders etc.
Maybe the next generation will be more used to the digital world than us and won't need the tactile interface that we have in the paper.

I certainly hope papers will be around or I'll be out of a job.
Nicely thought out and presented
