Pictures of guitars that I've built or worked on. I've been building and customizing since the mid 70s. Some rare and notable guitars and people have been in my shop and home. I'll be displaying some of the pix here. I also intend to post some of the stories about them and their owners at chesterart.com later this year. Around 30 years ago I was a punk kid and brought an electric guitar to you for a setup. You took the time to show me your method of installing strings and I've been doing it that way ever since. Today I dropped the guitar off at Dale's on Beach and for some reason I recalled your name. Googled it and here I am.

I don't know if you'd remember, but I used to manage the guitar dept. at Marvin Kay's Music here in Jax back in the late 70's through 1980. I was sorry to see you leave the geetar world here, hope you're doing OK.....Nice pix!!!!

You souped up a Yamaha FG180 acoustic (brass nut, nicely lowered action) for me back in the 80's, which entirely changed the way that piece played. I recently purchased a Esteban (don't laugh) Vintage acoustic which also needs lowered action, and will try to recontact to see if you can work your magic on that unit.

i don't know if i have the right place but i have a chester guitar i bought it about fifteen years ago but I'm not sure i was a teenager and it seemed a good find. I think it is from 1980 and it has a number 2 on it. Any idea if I am barking up the right tree? Just looking for some information.

wow, a flash from the past. you installed a pick-up in a old fender guitar of mine back in the 80's. i wish i still had that guitar. i stopped playing, went on and got into the lighting and sound part, i had one of your shirts also..was a big fan of johnny van zant. i knew eric a little. found your site through jacksonville. com, glad to see you are doing well. keep up the good work. maybe i'll see you out at a show one day.
