PSM Malacca Heritage 2009

The Photographic Society of Malaysia organised this tour of the historic city of Malacca.

The city was awarded the UNESCO World Heritage Site to recognise the rich history
of the city that dated back to the 15th century.

The Heritage tour included visits to the old parts of the city and a visit to the craftsmen
and artists that continued to make a living here. That night there was a procession
through town celebrating the Nine Emperor Gods festival. The next morning, the annual
Chong Yang festival was celebrated at the top of Bukit Cina hill. The hill has one of the
oldest Chinese cemeteries outside China with graves dating back to the 15th century.
