Guilin (桂林) is a prefecture-level city in China, situated in the northeast of the
Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on the west bank of the Li River.
Its name means "forest of Sweet Osmanthus", owing to the large number
of fragrant Sweet Osmanthus trees located in the city.
Guilin is located 109°E longitude and 24° N latitude.
From Guilin city I travelled to Xingping, Yangshuo and then to Longji.
I stayed for four days in the Longji terraced rice fields villages of PingAn and DaZai,
waiting for the perfect weather. It was the beginning of the rice planting season.
The heavy rain into the mountains had begun to fill up the rice terraces,
preparing it for the new planting season.
The morning sunrise and the reflections off the water filled terraces
was an amazing sight and worth the wait and all the climb.
