The road not taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This is one of my most favorite poems of all time ..... especially this...
"I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
Sensational photo, Mieke, it really brings the words to life! ~V~

Intriguing road... I wonder where it goes. And I am admiring the huge trees that serve as the gateway. V

or this Massey poem

I love walking down this old mountain road.

It matters not which side I go.

No one is rushing up here, they just stop and say hello.

"Oh, ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road,
And I'll get to Scotland afore ye;
But me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond."

Excellent capture for the title, lonely road for a lonesome traveller. V.
