Shrouds

Erika Diettes a Columbian photographer interviewed and photographed women
who had been present at the torture and murder of their loved ones.
The photos are closely cropped in black and white, at a moment of great vulnerability –
all but one with their eyes closed.
The photographs are printed on silk panels.

Seen at the Foto-biennale in Ballarat, Au

Oh Mieke - what an amazing exhibition this must be. I googled it and see that she photographed them "the moment as the victims delve into their past and retrieve memories of these disturbing times."
So, so sad
