Lonely tree

A lonely tree
in wide open field
Attracts more damaging winds
than being a tree
in a deep dark forest.
She survives the lashing gusts
by bending with the wind
and keep herself rooted
as long there is water beneath.
Sometimes she loses
this battle
with the harsh circumstances
being so lonely and eye-catching
in meadowland.
But she will grow again,
experiences richer,
different and scarred,
a bit wiser.

Such a great old tree. The poem is very thoughtful and inspirational.

A magnificent tree which has obviously withstood the storms.

Your Aussie greens are so different from NZ's greens. Still lovely to see.

Very nice! I have a tree at the lake that I shoot frequently and it may well pop up here one day! A lovely poem to go with it. Did you write it?

Yes, truly! Strong image and poem.
