6 Work/Labour

Working in the home care is a highly important job,
as important as being a GP or a pilot
It is shameful and a pity that society doesn't want to pay for care.
The wages are on a too low level in my opinion.
Pictured worker in action is: Nilanty.

Just a little note: care is not work of love, but a very demanding job, which needs a lot of skills!

Words that are sadly so true and that I completely agree with, wonderful portrait that shows the compassion and skills required to this very important work that we all should appreciate more.

Well said, Mieke! It is all about human dignity.
May we all show a little more caring in our lives and take the time to help those in need whether it is through our profession or as a courtesy to friends, family or neighbors. We never know when we too might be in need of care.

Great shot and your text is right on. Getting personal care in one's later years ought to be a given.

I agree...definitely a thankless job where workers aren't compensated as they should be.
Cindi Smith06-Sep-2010 03:36
Yes, here too. I wish they'd take care of our elderly...seems sometimes to me that the government would like them to just go away.

Oh yes! I pray for those who care for my mother in the nursing home and give gifts yearly. They are very important. Good choice for a labor of love.
