When I woke up yesterday morning half of the garden looked white. An unusual sight for this part of the world I’m living now.
My strongest memory of frost is that one day cycling home from work in the winter from 1985 my ears got frozen.
And of course that very cold winter in 1963 when the world's largest and longest speed skating competition, the Eleven Cities and leisure skating tour, was held in the province of Friesland, Netherlands on my birthday.
When I was a child I had to walk around in the winter with wooden shoes with straw in it.
But still I got very cold feet and nearly frozen toes.
I do not like the cold weather.
Hoar frost refers to the white ice crystals, loosely deposited on the ground or exposed objects, that form on cold clear nights when heat losses into the open skies cause objects to become colder than the surrounding air.
