For many months the spider has been weaving her monumental web on the bark of an eucalyptus tree.
The eucalyptus tree have been there for many years watching traffic passing by,
but is not so healthy anymore, maybe of a fungus infection.
The trees have a remarkable defence against insect and fungus invasions.
As soon as an injury occurs to the tree, the injured area is flooded with a sticky red liquid called "kino."
As the kino comes in contact with air, it hardens to a bright-red mass that seals the wound off from the elements and attacking enemies.
