I am a great grand daughter of Captain Thomas Anthony "Father of the Blinman Mine" . My grandmother was born in the Captain's cottage Blinman. I would love a copy of this photograph. I would also like to know more about his life and times in S.A. Captain Thomas Anthony arrived in Australia in 1862 from England to take over Mines at Blinman. He became manager of Kurrilla Mine, near Wallaroo and was invited to lay the first stone for the Kadina Institute on 28 Apr 1880. . Thomas married on 19 September 1868 to Alexandrina Mary Ellen Sampson (my great grand mother) In March 1878 Captain Anthony was successful in securing a place amongst the South Australian Exhibition, for his fine block of yellow ore. He died 27th April 1885 (55 years) at his Kurilla Mine residence of pulmonary phthitis from which he had been suffering for three years, leaving a widow and 5 children. He is buried at the Kadina Cemetery.
