Cody is a male Anatolian Shepherd just under six months old. He weighs about 55 pounds and is thin at that weight. He has been neutered, microchipped, and has had all of his shots. He will need a booster of his shots in about a month. He will also need to be heartworm tested as it takes six months for heartworms to develop to the point that they show up in a test and thus he is too young at this point.
Cody will sit and stay for treats (usually), seems to like other dogs, and likes people as well. However, he is still a bit wary around people, I think because of all of the changes he has been through.
You may notice in some of the pictures that a band around his leg was shaved for the IV during his neutering. This is normal and the fur will grow back.
Updated 11/11/2005: Cody now weighs 73 pounds at about eight months. He is getting crate trained although he usually has slept in the back hall. I cannot say that hs is housebroken because he is not unsupervised in the house but has been very clean and I do not recall any accidents. Cody loves to play with other dogs and is very social once he becomes comfortable with people or other dogs. However, Cody is not a submissive dog and will not be placed with another male dog to avoid conflicts. This is not unusaul for his breed. Cody will need a lot of kindness because of his mistrust of new things and will need firm (never harsh) treatment to ensure he stays obedient.
Updated: As of December 23, 2005, Cody has been adopted.
