Wineyards look the same where ever you go, only the way the plant is growing is different. In very hot regions they grow high, in colder places they grow at the ground level and have gravels on the soil to reflect the heat of the day stored by them and giving heat during cold nights. The roses are part of it and they are not there to give a homy living room touch or colour to the landscape. Grapes are rosewoods and subject to the same diseases and natural parasites attacks. The grape being more resistant to parasites then the rose, the rose gets the attacks at an earyer stade and thus the wintner can take preventive measures as soon as the rose gets affected. This roses are in some way the life savers of the grapes.
