Mikey's on the Bayou

Lots of good fried seafood on this trip but we had trouble finding raw oysters and boiled or steamed shrimp. Walking around downtown Oceans Spring around lunchtime we finally asked a guy setting up an outside dining area. He suggested a restaurant a couple of blocks over and one across US 90 and over the bridge. We walked to the first one and oysters were being shucked and placed on ice. They didn't open until 2pm and oysters were $20 a dozen.

So....into the car to check out number 2. Bingo! Mikey's on the Bayou saved the day! Friendly staff, cold beer and $10 oysters. The waitress apologized for the price. They were $7 last week but local oysters were not available and they were getting them fresh off the boat from Texas. They sure were good.
