Christmas, Jack Style

No, I am not getting into the Christmas Spirit although I think Jack has a good idea!

This is a photo of one of my birthday presents. (Thanks Bree!) The Nightmare before Christmas
is one of my favorite movies and regular viewers of my pics know I like toys/figurines.

For critique purposes, is the DOF/lighting ok or would you rather see more of Jack Skellington?

Great photo! Is Jack kneeling down? He's got to be really tall compared to the little boy. Good job Mom!

Interesting set of comments, for me the DoF and overall lighting is fine, looks a little menacing. I would have liked to of seen a lower angled shot yo compare with this one, looking up to the child, this would have then put the santa and child a little closer together.

Everything seems fine with me, a couple of suggestions, the image seems a bit warm to me, the box is too close to the edge of the frame, and I would move both jack and santa a bit more forward so that santa's shadow is down a bit more, I'd also change a bit of the angle so that santa's arm is not covering his shadow.

I agree with everyone...there is not a thing wrong with the DoF, in fact it would not look as good with more DoF. As for the grain I could take it either way...looks good now but if you were to show me it without I might like it better...have to see it side by side...good photo

it is creepy this way! I wouldn't cahnge the DOF, but I would perhaps try to minimize the grain?

Maybe a layer of gaussian blur and then erase out the dude up front?

I LOVE your toy collection!!

My opinion, since you asked, I am always willing to give it. Don't change a thing, all is just right with this. The DOF and the shadows lends itself to the mood perfectly.

I like the dof and the crop and the lighting is nicely done. It darkness adds more to it like a creepiness factor.
