Yellowstone Landscapes

Yellowstone is known more for its thermal features than spectacular mountain landscapes, and we were able to get some really nice photos of some of the best features in Geyser Basin and Mammoth Hot Springs. Of course, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone was spectacular, along with several waterfalls, including the Lower Falls on the Yellowstone River. The colors in the thermal pools are quite striking and are caused by bacteria that thrive in high temperatures; I love the colorful abstract patterns that are formed in some areas.
