Ancient Pueblo Ruins | Canyonlands National Park | Lower and Upper Antelope Canyon | Bryce Canyon National Park

Canyonlands National Park

We re-visited Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park (our favorite campsite in Utah), and our primary goal was to locate and photograph a place in Canyonlands Island in the Sky region knows as False Kiva. This is an ancient Pueblo site that is a Class II archeological site, which means it is protected and not shown on any maps, but the park rangers must tell you how to locate it if asked. Even so, it is not a hike for the faint-hearted or those afraid of heights. We are delighted that we found it with the help of good directions and a GPS, and took a few decent photographs before we were joined by another hiking couple.
