One morning when I was having breakfast at my favorite restaurant by the beach,
I was alone in the restaurant except for a large party that was quite boisterous.
I didn't mind as I could see how much they were enjoying themselves.
Then Mike, the owner of the restaurant (and a good friend of mine) told me they were paying for my breakfast.
It turns out that is was Anže Kopitar, the retiring Captain of the LA Kings Hockey team.
I don't follow hockey so I had no idea who he was, but what a cool experience that morning!
I ran out and took this shot as they were leaving.
He is from Slovenia and returning there.This was a celebration of his retirement.
His wife showed me pictures of their homes in Slovenia. I've been to the country and it is beautiful.
He will probably be missed around town.
