Look, Ma, No Hands!

Bordeaux, France

I neglected to set the shutter speed properly to get a sharper shot.
Posting this because I can't imagine riding a bike with no hands.
This is the bike, walk, jog path by the Place de la Bourse. The Miroir de Eau is just off to the right at the top of the steps.
It was somewhat dangerous to get from those steps over to the rail. Lots of traffic!

Fun shot. It's not actually that difficult to ride with no hands.

This is a good bike to ride hands free...and a good lane in fine weather! v

A great shot of everyday life, so well composed. Composition and impact is more important than sharpness.

I remember riding with no hands as a kid, never tried it as an adult! I like the shadows in the walkway and bikeway here.

I love the composition!
It is like the bikers are being pulled along by the lines!

In my neighborhood that was a rite of passage. Ride no hands until you came to a hill or a spot you had to grab the handlebar. Road rash? That's why you get really good at it.
Great moment to catch! V

it's common enough to go hands free these days, but yes it does seem problematic...one pebble on the road and there goes the front wheel..

Looks like a marvelous place for a ride. I guess people are so comfortable on it they can ride with no hands. V.

A confident commuter. A nice boulevard to bike and walk on.

Looks like a pretty uncrowded path, so if he goes down he is unlikely to take many others with him.

:) Made me laugh. Good catch! v
