You Only Live Once

Hermosa Beach, California

At least that's what I think the sign is meant to say. Not sure about the letter H.
This is one of the corner houses on the Strand in Hermosa Beach, an older home, and the yard is full of all sorts of "stuff."
There are some surf boards with price tags. Along the front windows, there are posters for sale.
The owner must be an interesting character given what I see in his yard.
If the house were ever sold, it would be torn down.
One block away, a house much nicer than this one, sold in 2017 for almost 9 million dollars and it has been demolished. I saw pictures of it online and,
while a bit dated, it was still in very good condition and not what most people would consider a tear down.
One block the other direction, there is a home currently on the market for 20 million.

Very cool! I like how you framed it. I would probably have a ball photographing their stuff. ~BV~

Well seen for the possibilities for an interesting and unique image. Captured with excellent clarity and the many diagonals add graphic energy. Really a neat image. V+

Great find. V I understand that beach property would have value. Way way back I knew a girl had a place one street off the beach in Oceanside. It had been in her family since the 30's When I knew her in the 80's the value it was sky high then. Now? out of reach for most of us. I always wonder who pays these kind of prices?

Your information the value of property is amazing it must be a fantastic beach location.
Love the sign and I think the H is because a N was not available at the time on we would figure it out as you did.
Excellent image and information Charlene.

An eye catching display. It’s too bad people just tear down good buildings.

What a great shot- love how the birds seem to be having a discussion - maybe an argument about the sign :) V

Definitely a high rent district. I bet this owner is one of the more interesting characters in the neighborhood.

must be the home of a restless mind...the overpriced housing market involves a lot of greed, gullability, and the often crazy tear-downs serve people's desperate need for the newest and latest..

The owner does sound like a character and has an interesting collection, not to mention a valuable piece of property. Amazing prices for houses! V.

How fascinating, as is this sign as well & a bit of an eyesore amongst very expensive houses. I wonder what the neighbors think, Char.V
