Hitting the Slopes

Every year at this time, sand berms are added to L.A.'s beaches to guard against storms and flooding.
They have become very popular for sand sledding.
Hermosa Beach has one on each side of the pier. This was on Thanksgiving day - the mild temperature made it a popular outing for families.

Very nice beach photograph nice to see the kids taking advantage of the slope and sand sledding and they get good exercise while having fun.
They will be hungry and sleep well.

Interesting perspective on this. I can see why the worry about flooding, the street looks at a lower level than the sea.
