I have been in touch with our wonderful tour guide, Ignazio, in the white shirt standing next to me. I wanted to know that he was safe at home in Rome. He sent me a very upbeat newsy email about his life at the moment.
They have steep fines for being caught outside but they are allowed to go to the market and pharmacy.
He describes going to the market as something out of a science fiction movie. What he described: lining up outside spaced out and being let in a few at a time and cashiers wearing masks and glove.
The lining up part is what my market is doing now.
I was glad to know he is safe at home cooking along with the chefs on the food channel!
