Interior Walls, Colosseum

Rome, Italy

There always seems to be a lot of maintenance and restoration going on at the Colosseum.
It must be quite an undertaking to keep it together. They are obviously working on the central ground area right now.
I wonder if the miss-matched stones up top are temporary.

This must be quite a sight. We've visited quite a few amphitheater type structures in Europe, but never on remotely this massive. Having the people in here provides an essential scale.
