My friend and I had already been to Cinque Terre where the rest of the group was going, so we decided
to take a train somewhere a little off the beaten track and ended up in Pistoia.
It was a short train ride from Montecatini. Trying to buy our train tickets out of a machine was a comedy skit waiting to happen. No ticket booth with a real person. An exasperated Italian stepped up to help us.
