Doorway Amidst the Tree Roots

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Ta Prohm temple is dominated by huge tree roots every where. It's become so popular that they now have
guard rails up to keep the tourists from destroying the place, but they can spoil the photograph so I took them out. You also only have a nanosecond to get a photo without a tourist in it. :-)

It is a wonderful composition of this lovely doorway! We know the predicament of so many tourists in the way - often taking selfies! Grrrrr.V

it's amazing to see how the roots of these tall trees seem to maintain the structure of the temple! V

Excellent use of light here. The crushing weight of the tree almost seems animated.

looks like an aptly named Strangler Fig...good that Ta Prohm was left largely untouched so the site's reclamation by plants could be clearly seen..
