On my annual trip to Phoenix to visit with my sorority sisters from college, we were planning a trip to Jerome, Az but it was snowing there so we went to visit the Wrigley Mansion and have lunch there instead. This is the foyer of the home which was built between 1929 and 1931
as a winter cottage for the Wrigley family. It is the smallest of the mansions that they owned.
Today it is a private club due to zoning laws. You have to be a member to eat here.
It is run by Jamie Hormel whose husband bought the mansion in 1992 to save it from being torn down for condos. He was part of the Hormel family - you know - Spam. At lunch, french fries are served in a Spam can. :-)
