Lots of old lettering surviving on buildings here. I was intrigued by this plaque
regarding dancing assemblies in the 1700s. Not sure what that has to do with wirework
manufacturers. A close is a narrow alleyway. The sign shows a hand pointing
so I imagine it was to point you through the alleyway to the manufacturer.
