It's His PAD
(02.24.05)

A local painter that frequents the colonial village, often asks about my photography when he sees me... that is when he doesn't have a flock of folks around him... which is just about always :). What a marketing plan! He comes to town; leans his pictures up against a tree and then starts painting. Before long folks are buzzing around him like flies to honey. I can tell you that THAT doesn't happen to photographers.

I was thinking today about how uninspired I was; I couldn't even bring myself to click the shutter once. Ironic, 'cause there on my memory card from yesterday was this picture. For him every day is a PAD day. One day I saw him painting the Governor’s Palace (an icon in town) and I asked, don't you get tired of painting it over and over? My stomach tells me I should paint it, he said, and I understood. Yes, it's a different story when you're doing a Picture a Day for a living. :)

I've just had a look at his page - some fine paintings: he certainly has a gift. Hope you are feeling better today, LC.

Nice candid and I so admire people who can paint. They're not limited by what a camera can capture. I like the way you composed this with his painting in the foreground which btw are excellent.

From what I can see of his artwork I'm not surprised about the crowd he gathers. Lovely candid, LC.
