It's a story of my trip with Anthony
to Puerto Princesa City and Honda Bay,Palawan,Philippines in the year of 1999.

When I arranged and edited those old films and slides,
my idea was not to introduce how clean and nature of Palawan.
I want to share the story about a little boy and I having a good time there...

There is a strange but special name card hiding inside my calling card box
that I always think of...

Time goes back to a little boy and I had a wonderful snorkeling day at Honda Bay!
We were hand in hand viewing plenty of colorful fishes in the ocean.
It just looked like the French movie "The Big Blue" from French director Luc Besson.
The moment touched me so much when the little boy was just away from me for seconds,
(Of course!I found! I was scared!)
Then all of a sudden,the shy boy popped up and brought me a beautiful seashell as a gift.

When the time came for us to bid goodbye, our boat passed through his house;which his family also run a grocery store.I asked for his contact details for me to send the photos to him.
He just tore a Marlboro cigarette box,turned it over and carefully wrote his name down:
E-L-G-A-R,...
That's why I gave the title of this story as : A hello across the miles to my boy...Elgar!

我有一個名片盒,裡頭有一張我認為最特別的名片,泛舊卻耀眼...

場景回到1999年2月,Honda Bay Palawan,Philippines - 菲律賓巴拉望島的本田灣,
我和Anthony租船出海,除了開船的船夫,還有一個10歲的男孩一塊在船上幫忙,他們倆是叔侄.
船夫叔叔和小侄子如同苦役一般,整理船務,寡言辛勞.陽光漫漫,薄浪輕濤,我們的小船在清澈碧綠的海水中悠悠前駛,船痕划過蝙蝠島..海星島..都像浮在一圈雪白奶油上的抹茶蛋糕.小男孩忽然輕搖我並手指前方說：蛇島(Snake Island)! 下去浮潛囉(Let's go Snorkeling)!

Anthony跟著船夫叔叔熟悉水性,我自然隨著小男孩跳入海中---他們都知道哪裡有漂亮的魚!
小男孩和我一直手牽著手,絕佳默契,玩耍魚群;真不敢相信,小男孩竟可以指揮魚兒像指揮交通一樣,魚兒會對我們煞車瞪眼,也會逗趣倒車,原來悠遊海底世界的繽紛都不若有伴相隨的幸福!
正當我心屬一個更鮮豔的珊瑚礁深穴,不知何時小男孩已放開我手!? 消失在我身邊了!?
我怎變成一個人漂浮在浪潮裡?畢竟陌生,而且無知,我開始慌了...海其實是可怕恐懼的!!
僅一點點時間,小男孩再度出現了...看過法國導演盧貝松的一部經典電影『碧海藍天The Big Blue』嗎?
天哪!他靦腆地雙手捧上一個好美的貝殼給我,貝縫中還有小魚溜出來,他又細心地剝掉沾粘的海草...
我們,不約相視而笑;他的笑,帶著童稚與羞怯.我的笑,儘是開心與放心,但卻心疼他沒有任何浮潛裝備,是不是得憋好大一口氣,潛沉更深之處才能為我尋找一份來自家鄉大海的禮物?

日落將盡,我們的船也返回男孩家;我跟他要聯絡方式好寄照片給他,
他當場撕下雜貨舖子裡的Marlboro香煙紙盒並在背面認真慎重地寫下他的名字:E-L-G-A-R,.....

我一直收藏著這張「名片」,總以為我們會再去找Elgar租船、浮潛、看魚;
我想在我們還沒起程之前先跟他說一聲:Hello! My boy)))))
