In 1954, an archeologist discovered a dis-assembled 5000 year old "solar boat" buried beside the great pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), at Giza.
The boat is made of cedar, sycamore and jujube wood and is 46 meters long and abuot 6 meters wide in the middle with a covered cabin.
A ritual object, it is somewhat unclear as to the boat's original purpose.
After being carefully reconstructed, the boat is displayed in a museum next to the pyhramid. A second boat still lies buried nearby.
