Karnak Temple Hypostyle Hall.jpg

Karnak Temple dedicated to Amun-Ra at Luxor, (modern Thebes) , makes n overwhelming impression of pylons, courts, monumental columns, statues and relief sculptured walls.
It is mainly a product of the 18th and 19th dynasties , and was added to, embellished and restored for 2000 years.
The famous hypostyle hall shown here, is a forest of 134 gigantic columns, some with bud capitals and some with open flower capitals supporting roof beams.
The latter are so large that 100 people could stand on the top of each.
