Temple of Horus at Edfu - Hypostyle Hall .jpg

Edfu Temple is one of the temples often visited from the Nile River Cruise Ships.
The temple, dedicated to the falcon- headed god Horus, was built during the Ptolemaic period, ca. 327 BC and work continued up till the time of Cleopatra VII.
Edfu is considered to be the best preserved temple in all Egypt, having much of the ceiling still intact, as can be seen in this picture.
