In an agreement with the city of Oslo, Gustav Vigeland, the Norwegian sculptor, bequeathed all the works in his possesion
in exchange for a new and spacious studio.
He lived and worked in theh palatial building from 1924 til his death in 1943
He made portraits of prominent Norwegians, but perhaps his most memoriable and popular works
are those outdoors in Vigeland Park in Oslo, three of which are seen in the next images.
The park is open to the public and is a popular place for families and tourists, culminating in a huge fountain, a labyrinth,
and an obelisk, surrounded by a multitude of his figures in both bronze and granite
