The new Museo del Duomo, (Museum of the Cathedral), opened with its spacious new rooms and exhibitions about a year ago.
Most of the sculpture and other treasures from the old museum were moved into these newly created settings,
and organized to replicate the original settings as much as space would allow.
Replicas of the Duomo's facade and the East side of the Baptistery were created for the indoor spaces.
This enabled the museum's designers to place sculptures as the originally were installed on the facade of the Cathedral
opposite Ghiberti's famous East Doors of the Baptistery.

To enhance the experience and introduce visitors to the new Museo, visitors transit through a small area where a brief
history of the building of the Duomo is shown in diagrams on a small movie screen.
