It is very unusual to see Pza. San Marco empty as it appears in this picture.
During the day, the piazza is crowded with tour groups, and visitors having drinks at the outdoor cafes.
At this time, there is extensive restoration being done on parts of the facade of the church, so my gallery
this year has only this night picture shown from the opposite end of the piazza.
One can see however, that the lights give a very pleasant atmosphere to the setting, and the music
from the small orchestras, adds to the ambience of Venice, a memory that lasts far beyond actually being there !
