The Simple Life/Amish Style

The Amish often cite three Bible versus that encapsulate their cultural attitudes:

1. "Be not yoked with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" (11 Corinthians 6:14)

2. "Come out from among them and be yet separate, saith the Lord." (11 Corinthians 6:17)

3. "Instead of being molded to this world, have your mind renewed, and so be transformed in nature, able to make out what the will of God is, namely, what is good and acceptable to him and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

Nicely done Judy. Amazing to know this kind of community continues against the grain. I really got a smile looking at the caution signs on the back of the carriages, just a little dip into our world.

Your photos of the Amish are absolutely wonderful. You really captured the simplicity and stark beauty of the country life. I loved the buggy by the barn, the schoolhouse window and actually ALL of them. I am so amazed they let you photograph their faces.
