As the Czech Republic has only for less than twenty years been a democracy, their criminal justice institutions remain more open to public scrutiny than in more established countries. The course taught there, that includes visits to jails, prisons, courts in session, etc., could not be taught in Italy or Spain, for example, as access to such institutions is closed to most outsiders.
