This gallery documents the progress of my project of building a pair of C&NW 'hammerhead' RSD5 locomotives in HO Scale. There were originally three but the 1687 was wrecked in the late '60s. These are the two that lasted to the end of the ALCo era on the Huron line. They were originally equipped with steam generators and dynamic brake equipment in the short hood; which is why it is much taller and shaped differently than a standard ALCo short hood. The equipment was later deactivated and removed.
