At one time Siracusa's wealth and size were unmatched by any other city in the ancient world. Today it is thought to be one of the richest ancient historical sites in Europe. You will see Greek and Roman ruins including a cave called the "Ear of Dionysious" because of its unusal shape, resembling a human ear and the famous Latomie of Paradise.
