This individual has the brightest bill of
the 3, and the red spot extends well up on to
the upper mandible.
Dark head markings are confined to the
area between the eye and the gape, with some
below the gape. They appear to be related to
the arrangement of the feathering (rumpled)
rather than to the color. This bird was preening
much of the time I was watching it and has some
downy feathers stuck to its bill.
