Tennessee Warbler nectaring

St. Charles, IL

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology "All About Birds" website says
"The Tennessee Warbler is a common nectar 'thief' on its
wintering grounds in tropical forests."

Other sources also say these birds obtain nectar by piercing
the bases of flower tubes (no pollenation, therefore "stealing"
nectar) or by entering the front of the flower,
contributing to pollenation of some species.
