Ouch! I think you are right---this person must have a sore back in the morning. It's important work, though. Nothing makes a city look like it's failing faster than broken sidewalks and streets. I'm sure that the tourists appreciate the man's labors for making them feel that they are in a good place.
It's fun to see the different way vertical lines appear in your composition. I particularly admire the lovely palms on either side of the street.
