I like this photo very much. Why should we not find the beauty in aging? There's grace in the way the petals curl and fall. The texture of the petals changes, the flower's ovary swells...it is an extraordinary process on the path to making seeds. While the blossom is in its death throes, it is the culmination of this year's cycle. We can take heart in the fact that the green leaves remain to replenish the tulip bulb for next year's bloom.
