Red-berried Elder

Konala, Helsinki

Sambucus racemosa
Terttuselja
Druvfläder

Small, creamy flowers give way to cone-shaped clusters of small scarlet berries in June and July. Fruit is thought to be poisonous. Bark is light brown and covered with what appears to be warts.

It's very warm in Helsinki - too warm to go around shooting creative images.. therefore my choice is this red-berried elder near our home!

I'm glad you are staying close to home because the heat can be dangerous. This is a beautiful bright red. When we were kids, we called these "Poison Berries" LOL BV
