TheAlamo_Reimagined6607

The Alamo reimagined. I'm currently reading James Michener's novel, Texas, and the Battle of Alamo is nicely depicted.

However, the real building in San Antonio is small and rather anti-climactic, especially when you

try to imagine the actual battle, where over 2000 Mexican soldiers surrounded and killed the roughly

180 fighters inside... mainly American immigrants (Norte Americanos as they were called) and some

Mexican nationals who were rebelling against the Mexican president and dictator, Santa Ana.

After reading about this dramatic part of history, I imagined an Alamo far more glorious.

Maybe set on a hill in a dry, typical Texas landscape.

I decided to create part of the Alamo as it must have looked then. A lone building. Bare on the sides.

But still majestic.

This is the Alamo building set against a Fredericksburg, Texas, landscape.

Your rendering is great ! However, this is only the actual Alamo Misson. Sometimes referred to as the chapel. A quick web search will give you several views of what it looked like at the time of the battle. It was also a fortress !

Sensational and so different! I remember when I first saw it and was shocked how small it was. This was a creative thing to do. ~BV~
