There are actually four, and one of these has already flown the coop, just one day after I started the series. They get so antsy when they know their mom is around, and she signals her presence so that they can prepare. Of course, only one of them gets a meal each time she returns, so I guess it's in each of their best interest to be as vocal and open-mouthed as possible.
This was a fascinating study, just watching the juveniles and the mom and the whole routine. She was never gone for more than ten minutes, and she appeared to be spending her ENTIRE day looking for food for her young.
And we complain...
