OK, I know this is nasty. This is a tick--a wood tick I would guess--that I had just removed from my Portuguese Water Dog, discovered after, well, a walk in the woods. Nasty, nasty, nasty.
And to give you a sense of scale, the tick's on a US dime, a small coin, but still!
